This registration form is for Art Club for ages 5-11 that meets on Tuesdays from 1:00pm-2:30pm at Camp Catherine in Hershey, PA. This is a collaboration between Mini Explorer Club and Wunder Institute. Dates are listed below. This is a drop-off program. Parents are welcome to leave or hang out at camp during class.

Please note that there are no refunds for missed classes. After registering, you will receive a separate email with a waiver to sign if one is not already on-file.

Program Description:

Art Club will explore the world of art through the lives and work of six featured artists, from muralist Rafael Lopez to Vincent Van Gogh, Keith Haring, Georgia O'Keeffe, Wassily Kandinsky, and Mary Blair. Each week begins with a picture book introducing the artist and their story, followed by a hands-on project inspired by their style or technique.

The program is process-focused rather than outcome-focused, meaning instructors will introduce each artist and technique while encouraging explorers to make their own creative choices along the way. Through storytelling, observation, and hands-on making, they'll learn that art is a way of seeing and expressing the world, and that there's no single "right" way to create.

Learners should dress for messy work, as many projects involve paint and other art materials that don't always wash out. We do have access to an indoor space if necessary, but we create outside as much as possible. Learners should pack a water bottle. You will receive an email at least two hours before start time if club needs to be rescheduled or canceled.
