This registration form is for the Science & Nature Club for ages 5-11 that meets on Wednesdays from 12:30pm-3:30pm at Camp Catherine in Hershey, PA. Dates are listed below. This is a drop-off program.

This registration will collect the first of two equal payments. The second payment will be invoiced via Paypal to your provided email, and will be due October 7, 2026.

Program Description:

This season, our elementary age Science & Nature Club will follow Jane Goodall’s internationally recognized Roots & Shoots program. Instead of traditional lessons, children will become young change makers by exploring real environmental and community issues, then designing and carrying out meaningful service projects.

The program is instructor-guided but student-led, meaning instructors will help facilitate the process while encouraging the explorers to take ownership of their ideas, decisions, and projects. Through outdoor exploration, teamwork, and hands-on experiences, they’ll learn that even small actions can make a positive difference for people, animals, and the environment.

Because this is a real-world service-learning program, some projects may occasionally include optional work outside of our regular club meeting time, such as family participation, community events, or simple at-home tasks. Families will always receive advance notice, and any outside involvement will be optional and kept reasonable and purposeful.

Explorers should dress for outdoor play. We do have access to an indoor space if necessary, but we learn and play outside as much as possible. Explorers should pack a lunch or snack and water bottle. You will receive an email at least two hours prior to start time if club needs to be rescheduled or canceled.
